Historic 41st Annual La Sportiva Vail HillClimb set for July 8

The historic Vail HillClimb returns this year as part of the Vail Recreation District's 2017 La Sportiva Vail Trail Running Series, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The Vail HillClimb, presented by Vail's Mountain Haus, will take place on Saturday, July 8 at 7 a.m. and has hosted over 500 participants annually over the past four decades. Featuring a switchback dirt and gravel road with spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges, the HillClimb tests local, regional and national runners with a 7.7 mile climb and more than 2,200 feet of elevation gain.   ( more)


Vail America Days™ 2017 Exciting Schedule with New Event Elements Begins This Week!

Vail’s event-filled Fourth of July celebration, Vail America Days, continues to be a top destination for those looking to celebrate the summer holiday in a fun and safe mountain environment. Entertainment will include Vail’s 4th of July parade, with the 2017 theme ‘America the Beautiful’, a traditional fireworks display from Golden Peak (conditions permitting) at dusk, live musical entertainment throughout the weekend featuring family music, jazz, and the annual Patriotic Concert from Bravo! Vail with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The 2017 parade route will wind its way through the villages, and will be presented by announcers in Solaris Plaza, as well as an announcer stage, presented by HealthONE at the entrance to Lionshead Village.

Vail Jazz Festival Kicks Off

Join Vail Jazz in celebrating the the 100th birthday of the genre! In 1917, New Orleans-based a Dixieland Jass Band record was the first to be stamped as "jazz," and the city maintains its reputation as the heart of jazz music to this day. The 23rd Annual Vail Jazz Festival features music and performers from all over the United States and across the globe, but the New Orleans theme recurs periodically -- here's what to look for.

Summer 2017 Wednesday Vail Village Art Walks June 21 through August 30, 11:00 a.m.

The free weekly Wednesday Art Walks and tour of Vail Village with the Town of Vail’s Art in Public Places Coordinator begin Wednesday, June 21, 2017. The tour meets at 11:00 a.m. each Wednesday from June 21 through August 30 at the Vail Village Welcome Center on the top level of the parking structure. The Vail Recreation District's East West Destination Hospitality Mountain Bike Race Series presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will continue the summer season of racing on Wednesday, June 14 with the Berry Creek Bash in Edwards.
