The Vail Recreation District will once again offer an adult women's clinic as part of the 35th annual Bob Johnson Hockey School this summer in Vail. The women's clinic will be unique to Vail and take place from 7 to 8 p.m. July 21-22 at Dobson Ice Arena.
The clinic will feature instruction by Mark Johnson and his staff. Johnson is the current University of Wisconsin women's team head coach and also led the U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team to a silver medal during the 2010 Olympics. Additionally, Johnson was the leading scorer on the U.S. team that won the Olympic gold medal in 1980 at Lake Placid, NY. Johnson has taught VRD ice hockey camps for the past 35 years and is the son of the hockey school's founder, Bob Johnson.
Cost is $60 and goalies are free. Participants must be 18 years or older with one year of prior ice hockey experience.
