The Colorado PGA is calling all junior golfers in Vail and Colorado's mountain region for its second event of the Junior Champions and Challenge Tour season. Taking place Monday, June 8 at the Vail Golf Club, the 64-player event is scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. tee time start. The event will offer both nine and 18-hole competitions to accommodate all skill levels and ages. Cost is $50 and players must be a member of Colorado PGA Junior Golf.
Colorado PGA Junior Golf will offer two levels of developmental and competitive play during the Vail event - the Challenge and Champions Tours. The Challenge Tour will provide 9-hole stroke play competition designed for players who are relatively new to the game or in the developmental stage of their golf career. Then, unique to the Colorado PGA Junior Tour, juniors up to age 18 can compete on the Challenge Tour. The Challenge Tour is designed to provide a more competitive experience for junior golfers of all ages, while the Champions Tour offers an 18-hole stroke play competition and is ideal for juniors who have previously been immersed in competitive play and are looking to take their game to the next level.
Players in both tours will be divided into three separate age groups: 12 and under, 13-15 and 16-18.

Vail Golf Club Director Alice Plain says separate yardages will be set for the nine and 18-hole competitions. Additionally, awards will be given to the top three performers in each age category immediately following the conclusion of the event. "We are excited to have this premier junior event hosted by Colorado PGA Junior Golf," said Plain. "The course will be in excellent condition with an early opening this year and Vail is a perfect central location for our mountain communities to bring their juniors to Vail for competition."
