Vail Soul Music Fest returns to Ford Amphitheater in the majestic mountains of Vail, Colorado on August 17-18-19, 2012 for the third installment of this intimate and unparalleled adventure in soul. In celebration of this ultimate soul experience, Vail Soul Music Fest today announces two special events to bring together Denver’s new soul community on the “Road to Vail.”

First up, a very special engagement of Dave Hollister and Shed G.’s “Rhythm and Jokes” at Jazz@Jacks on June 21. Next up, on July 12, 2012, LIRA will perform a private show at the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver as part of the festival’s philanthropic organization, Vail Soul Music Fest Youth Day Music and Mentoring Program.??

For Vail Soul Music Fest’s June 21 “Road to Vail” event at Jazz@Jacks, Grammy nominated R&B artist from the group Blackstreet, Dave Hollister, performs his stunning vocal material from his many Dreamworks and Motown solo recordings. Hosted by Denver’s own Shedrick “Can I Vent” Garrett (Shed G. has made a name for himself as the “People’s Comedian” and has hosted events by The Temptations, The Isley Brothers, and Brian McKnight just to name a few), this sold out “Road to Vail” event promises an engaging night of music, laughs, and community.??

Then, on July 12, 2012 international songstress LIRA will bring her artistry to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver for a very special performance and Q&A with 175 lucky young souls. This private engagement is part of the Vail Soul Music Fest Youth Day Music and Mentoring Program, which each year brings together more than 100 multi-cultural and under-served youth from Metro Denver and mountain communities to Vail to participate in a day of very special music and outdoor workshops and activities for aspiring music enthusiasts and performers.

Vail Soul Music Fest Youth Day 2012 happens Saturday, August 18 in Vail, as part of the music festival. ??The Vail Soul Music Fest Youth Day Music and Mentoring Program is one of the many soulful cultural experiences that round out two night and three-day festival. Performing this year are the exuberant and masterful Sugarfoot’s OHIO PLAYERS, rising blue-eyed soul star Allen Stone, and Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Anthony David - who, returning for his second VSMF play, is this time joined by the melodic voice of Algebra.
