Gourmet on Gore, presented by Toyota, returns to Vail Village for the eighth year. The event is an open-air culinary and beverage festival that takes place along Vail’s Gore Creek Drive and Bridge Street over Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30 - Sept. 2, 2013. The festival showcases Vail Valley’s premier restaurants as well as wines, spirits and beers from around the world.

Gourmet on Gore will kick off on Friday evening with the Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour presented by FirstBank from 6 p.m – 9 p.m. The progressive Tasting Tour offers a great opportunity to taste pairings from some of Vail’s best culinary talent in Vail’s hottest restaurants, retailers and galleries. Tickets are $75 per person. Ticketing information and details on the restaurants, galleries and beverage brands participating in the Gourmet on Gore Tasting Tour can be found at www.gourmetongore.com.

Gourmet on Gore continues Saturday, Sunday and Monday with the main event, the three-day Open-Air Tasting, which takes place along Vail’s Gore Creek Drive and Bridge Street and showcases the Vail Valley’s top restaurants as well as wines, beers and spirits from around the world. Live music, delicious food and superb drinks all meet together during this special event to create a delightful epicurean atmosphere in Vail Village. There is no cost for admission to Gourmet on Gore’s Open-Air Tasting, and the event is open to the public.

“In recent years Gourmet on Gore has really been hitting stride and with the addition our Presenting Sponsor, Toyota, they have helped bring things to a new level with their national event campaign, Let's Go Places landing right here in Vail,” says James Deighan, of Highline, the event producer. “They are taking a very established event and bringing it to the rest of the country with a very cool video news release featuring Kelly Liken and profiling the event and town as a whole.”

In addition to the Tasting Tour and Open-Air Tasting, guests can enhance their weekend Saturday morning, August 31st from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. with Yoga On The Lawn presented by The Vitality Center on the Solaris Plaza Lawn in Vail Village. This is a free, fun community yoga session, rain or shine! Rejuvenate your body before all of the days culinary action. Bring your mat, water, sunscreen, and as many friends as you would like!

Local artist Carrie Fell has once again created a one-of-a-kind work of art to represent the 2013 Gourmet on Gore event, which captures the spirit of the event and the iconic scenery of Vail Village.  Poster prints of the work “Room at the Table with Local Flavor” will be available at her gallery stop on the Tasting Tour and at the Open-Air Tasting.

Gourmet on Gore is presented by Toyota Motor Sales, Town of Vail, Stella Artois, Triumph Mountain Properties, Chambord, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, and Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, and is sponsored in part by Acqua Panna and San Pellegrino, Bighorn Toyota, Newton Red Label, Sonnenalp Hotel, DRY Soda, CAO, Carrie Fell Gallery, CineBistro, Burton’s Maplewood Farms, FirstBank, Icebreaker, Perch, Vail Dentistry, Vail Daily and KZYR the Zephyr.
