The VRD Vail Whitewater Series presented by Howard Head Sports Medicine and Alpine Quest Sports will host the final race of the season on Tuesday, June 7 at the Vail Whitewater Park in Vail Village. The race will feature a longer course, beginning at the Ford Park Amphitheater bridge, and consist of a downriver sprint (no obstacles) with the finish line at the International Bridge. First place finishers in each discipline (men's kayak, women's kayak, R2, SUP) will face off in a head-to-head final using a handicap equal to the difference in the time trials. The VRD is also encouraging a casual freestyle kayak competition between time trials at the International Bridge after participants are finished, with an undisclosed award to be given at the after-party.

Participants are asked to park at the Ford Park parking lot and carry gear down to the river. Shuttles will be provided back to the Ford Park parking lot following the races. Breakaway leashes are mandatory for SUP racers, and participants will not be allowed to compete without one. The R2 category will be limited to preregistered participants due to a limited supply of rafts. Please note that parking is not available at the International Bridge. Please be present for a mandatory 5:15 p.m. meeting that will take place at the Ford Park Amphitheater bridge to review safety, rules and course setup.

Lakota Guides will be on-site with rafts for R2 teams to use, and spectators will enjoy viewing from the banks of Gore Creek. Kayak and SUP participants can preregister for $12 for individual races or register on race day for $18. R2 participants can preregister for $18 for individual races, race day registration is not available. Preregistration will end at 5 p.m. Monday and on-site, day-of registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Ford Park Amphitheater Bridge. All participants and spectators over age 21 will receive a free beer courtesy of New Belgium Brewing Company, the race series' beverage partner. Altitude Bar and Grill will also offer 50% off pizzas and $2.50 Coors and Coors Light specials to participants.
The Vail Recreation District and Alpine Quest Sports will also raffle off a Hala Atcha SUP board this Tuesday at the Altitude Bar and Grill after-party, which has a retail value of $1,350.
