(Vail)-The Vail Recreation District (VRD) is pleased to announce the Vail Golf Club has been named the third best public course on the Western Slope and the top spot in the Vail Valley to play golf by readers of Colorado Avid Golfer magazine in its 2011 Best of Colorado Golf section. Voters who helped put the Vail Golf Club in the top spot attributed the award to its walkability, playability and scenery. This is the second time in two years the golf club has been recognized in the magazine's Best of Colorado Golf section with this year's award being the highest ranking the course has received in the magazine.
In 2010, the Vail Golf Club was named Most Female-Friendly Course by the magazine and recognized for the leadership of Vail Golf Club Director Alice Plain, as well as introducing programs to attract new players. "I'm thrilled the Vail Golf Club has been recognized for the second time in two years and we thank those who voted for us," said Plain. "We're excited for the upcoming summer golf season and we'll continue to strive to offer great play at great prices all season long."
The Vail Golf Club is slated to open in May, weather and course conditions permitting. Rates and season pass prices are available by clicking here and will go on sale in early April.
