The string-pickin’ strains of top bluegrass musicians have joined the familiar sounds of jazz and orchestral numbers floating through the Vail Valley this summer with the advent of the new Vail Summer Bluegrass Series that debuted July 2 and will continue with two free admission August performances in Vail Square at Lionshead Village in Vail, Colo. As the Official Hotel of the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series, the Antlers at Vail hotel is offering a lodging special for bluegrass fans starting from $144/night through the August performances.

“We’re so excited to have bluegrass joining Vail’s multiple summer concerts – many of them free and a short walk from the Antlers,” says Rob LeVine, general manager of Antlers at Vail. “And as a sponsor and the Official Hotel of the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series, we’ll be housing all of the musicians at the Antlers as well.  Who knows … our guests might even get the chance to see these popular musicians behind the scenes.”

Two August concerts remain on the schedule: prodigy Sarah Jarosz on August 13 and a finale featuring Trout Steak Revival opening for Leftover Salmon’s Drew Emmitt playing with his acoustic-only Drew Emmitt Band on August 27. Performances start at 5 p.m. MST and are available at no charge, with an option to buy preferred seating tickets. The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is presented by Lakeside Stride of Denver and the Town of Vail. For more information visit the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series website at http://www.vailbluegrass.com/.
