Friday, September 25th marks the start of a variety of $20.15 specials spanning across two world class resorts
The leaves have turned, the air is brisk and the restaurants and lodges throughout the Vail Valley are offering up some of their best specials of the year. All of these factors come together to kick off the third annual Vail Beaver Creek Restaurant Week, commencing Friday September 25th and spanning across ten days and two weekends until October 4th.  Excitement and buzz continue to build for the much anticipated 2015 event, especially after the recent post of the tantalizing $20.15 specials to the Dining at Altitude website.
When looking at the full $20.15 specials list one will quickly see the wide variety of offerings and have no difficulty finding the perfect fit for their palate.  The printable $20.15 list can easily be found on the events home page, diningataltitude.com.  Once on the website each participating location has their very own profile highlighting details of their location and offerings. When perusing the site many guests will notice their favorite locations from the past two years are once again participating while there is also an assortment of new restaurants and lodges on board. Vail and Beaver Creek will have no shortage of offerings for visitors and locals to kick back, relax and dine for the next ten days.
In reminiscing on the event, Nancy Dowell from Grouse Mountain Grill states “This is a fun time of year for us. Guests are discussing the local restaurants, the food and re-connecting with their favorite places.  We are happy to say that one of our signature dishes, the Pretzel Crusted Pork Chop, will be featured for $20.15 this year.  For restaurant week, we make sure our guests get a plate that Chef is just as committed to as when the menu is full price. Some people will come for their favorite dish on our menu, others will try it for the first time, but regardless it is a good time to have a great meal at just a little over half the usual price.” Outside of the mouth watering special offered by Grouse Mountain Grill, Restaurant Week guests can expect to experience the return of the Bento Box from Matsuhisa and a selection of three course dinners from 8100 Mountainside Grill, The Golden Eagle Inn, and world renown Chef Wolfgang Puck’s Spago in Bachelor Gulch. A couple more newbies on our list to check out this year are Sushi Oka offering specials on dinner and drinks as well as Nudoru Ramen Bar located in West Vail.
It’s not just the list of restaurants creating the buzz this year, but the Vail and Beaver Creek lodges as well, accommodating guests from across the country. With returning locations like the Vail Cascade, the Evergreen Lodge in Vail and the Beaver Creek Lodge, just to name a few, visitors will have plenty of options to choose from upon arriving to experience one of the best seasons Vail Valley has to offer. Whatever $20.15 special you opt for this year, there is one thing that’s for sure and that is, it will pair perfectly with Vail and Beaver Creek’s stunning autumn backdrop which truly began flourishing this past weekend.  The current fall scenery of the Rockie Mountains truly sets the stage for an unparalleled culinary event returning even bigger and better for 2015.
Beyond the plethora of participants and specials for $20.15, Top Shelf Harvest will be returning for a second year in efforts to kick of the week of dining! Bringing us live music, tastings and mixologist contests this event aims to entertain with inventive cocktails and food samples from Colorado’s best distilleries and the Valley’s favorite restaurants. Taking place in Lionshead on Saturday, September 26th, from 2-7 pm, spectators will dance, eat and drink the day away while enjoying Colorado-made wine and chocolate pairings for dessert. This event pairs perfectly with any foodies looking for a casual, fun, fall afternoon event full of Colorado spirit tasting and restaurant  noshes. Sarah Franke of Group970 Restaurants said, “We are thrilled the two events could overlap and feel Top Shelf Harvest will receive a small preview of the wide variety of delicious food and incredible specials being offered this year.”
Once again sincere thanks are due to the Town of Vail, Beaver Creek Resort Company, Vail Resorts and the Vail Valley Foundation for playing a critical role in supporting Restaurant Week throughout all of its’ three years. We can’t wait for everyone to get out there and enjoy all that Vail and Beaver Creek villages have to offer.  And don’t forget to save some time in your schedule for that beautiful autumn hike!
