Unlimited Play for Just $20 Per Person, Early Season Conditions Exist
(Vail)-The Vail Golf Club has kicked off its 45th season and is now offering six holes of play as of today (5-24). The golf club also has some of the best rates in Eagle and Summit Counties with unlimited play for $20 per person to walk the course. The course is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and features play on holes 1,2,8,9, 10 and 18. Due to early season conditions, carts are not allowed at this time. Golf course crews are anticipating opening the remaining holes by Monday, May 30.
According to Vail Golf Club Director Alice Plain, even with the recent inclement weather, golf course maintenance crews have been doing an excellent job prepping the course and its ready for play. "Our golf maintenance team has been doing an amazing job in preparing the course for this week's opening," said Plain. "Even with all the snow received this spring, the greens are rejuvenating quickly and are in great shape, once again, for early season play."
The driving range is currently open from 9 a.m. to dusk daily. Golf lessons are offered daily on both the range and the course. Happy Valley Grill also has the starter shack, featuring great snacks and drinks at great prices.
Construction is underway on various portions of the golf course. Work continues to complete reconstruction of bridges adjacent to holes 11 and 17 and cart path repairs will take place on hole 11 in the next couple weeks. Work to complete the renovation of tee box seven is also underway and scheduled to be completed by July 1. Golfers will have access from the lower tee of hole 7 until the upper tee box area is completed. During the work, golfers may experience some delays, but play will be available during the projects. The intersection of Vail Valley Drive and South Frontage Road is closed for work by the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District. Golfers should detour onto Vail Valley Drive just passed the Vail Village parking structure.
