The Vail Golf Club will open 18 holes for play tomorrow (5-23), offering some of the best rates in the mountains. Play will be available for $42 for nine holes and $64 for 18 holes, including cart. The course is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and due to early season conditions, carts are restricted to paths at this time. The driving range will open June 1.
According to Vail Golf Club Director Alice Plain, after over 350 inches of snow this winter and a cool wet spring, maintenance crews have been doing an excellent job prepping the course. "We're excited for our golf season to start," said Plain. "The course is playing great and we're looking forward to a wonderful summer in Vail."
Short game lessons will be offered until the driving range opens, and then the club's full slate of lesson options will be offered throughout the summer. Clinics, including Play with the Pro, Coors Coaching Hour, Senior Clinics, Get Ready Golf and Lessons, Ladies and Libations, will begin in mid-June. Happy Valley Grill will also be open, featuring great snacks, lunch items and drinks at great prices.
Work continues on the 18th hole realignment project. While construction continues in this area, golfers will play on the new 19th hole. The 19th hole was completed in 2013 to allow for 18 holes of play should work need to take place along the course. The 18th hole is anticipated to be ready for play in early July.
