VAIL GOLF CLUB FALL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
18th Hole Realignment
Construction to realign hole 18 at the Vail Golf Course will begin Monday, Sept. 16. Work will continue through Nov. 15 or until weather prohibits work. The project will resume in spring 2014 with completion scheduled for mid-summer. The 18th hole is being moved from its current location at the direction of the Vail Town Council to address ongoing safety concerns.

To allow 18 holes of play, an alternate hole, hole 19, will be put into rotation. For player safety during the construction, play will end on hole 17 and golfers will be shuttled back via golf carts to the clubhouse.

Work to be completed includes grading and excavation, plus installation of a retaining wall, cart path, irrigation work and landscaping.

Driving Range Netting Project
As part of the overall project to mitigate safety concerns, plans are underway to raise the south side of the driving range net in two different locations. Information will be announced when work on the netting project commences.

The projects are being managed by the Town of Vail, owner of the Vail Golf Club facilities and land, with advice from the Vail Recreation District, which manages the course and facilities. The 18th hole realignment and netting projects are being funded from the town's Real Estate Transfer Tax funds.
