Vail, Colo. June 24, 2019 – Vail is the place to hear live music almost any day of the week this summer, with free or discounted performances on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from June through September.
The summer music scene kicks off with Moe’s Original Bar B Que Hot Summer Nights concert series on Tuesday, June 18 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre with a performance by Boom Box. A production of the Vail Valley Foundation, this free concert series brings new music and big names to the valley. Other performances throughout the summer include:

  • Big Something – July 16
  • The California Honeydrops – Aug. 20
  • Bone Diggers: A Star-Studded Exploration of the Paul Simon Songbook – Aug. 27
For fans of bluegrass, the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series free concerts take place in the scenic Solaris Plaza in the heart of Vail Village on Wednesdays from June 26 to July 17. In addition to outstanding performances, there will be meet and greets before each show at Vail Brewing Company. Summer performances include:
  • Trout Steak Revival – June 26
  • Jeremy Garrett & Friends (of the Infamous Stringdusters) – July 3
  • Hackensaw Boys with Jay Roemer Band – July 10
  • The Lonesome Days, The Sweet Lillies and Avenhart – July 17
The Bravo! Vail After Dark series features three vibrant performances for $10. From classical pieces to innovative contemporary works and cutting-edge premieres in the intimate setting of the Shakedown Bar. The series features performances by:
  • Ken Thomson – July 7
  • The Brass Project – July 21
  • Edgar & George Meyer – July 28
  • Yvonne Lam – Aug. 4
Jazz music will fill the air on weeknights throughout the summer, as the 25th Annual Vail Jazz Festival brings six distinctive series with over 80 performances and 200 artists to the valley. In addition to the weekly ticketed series on Wednesdays and Thursdays, patrons can enjoy free jazz performances on Sundays with Vail Jazz at the Vail Farmers’ Market and Four Seasons Resort Vail from June 30 to Aug. 25.
To round up the summer, the Whistle Pig Vail mountain music series brings headline performers and bands to Vail from July to September. Steve Martin and Martin Short kick off the series on Sunday, July 14 and are followed by other performances by:

  • Steve Miller Band & Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives – Aug. 14
  • Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – Aug. 19
  • Bon Iver – Sept. 2
