The Vail Recreation District's youth summer sports camps will continue in July with tennis, golf, soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics and more. A schedule of the July camps and clinics is as follows:  
Junior Group Tennis Group Lessons: Underway
Ages Five to Teens
Vail Tennis Center, Vail

Junior tennis lessons will take place Monday through Friday from from 8 to 9 a.m. for teens, 9 to 10 a.m. for ages five to six, 10 to 11 a.m. for ages seven to nine and 11 a.m. to noon for ages 10 through 12. Vail Skateboard Clinics: Tuesdays in July
Ages Four to 14
Learn to skateboard at the Vail Skatepark with instructors who will teach everything from basic skills and etiquette to perfecting a boardslide or kickflip. Skateboards and helmets are required, and wrist guards and knee pads are recommended. Clinics take place from 10 a.m. to noon for ages seven to 12 or noon to 1 p.m. for ages four to six. Costs are between $15 and $25. Save $5 per session with purchase of five or more sessions. Private instruction is also available for $50 per hour and $10 each additional skater. VRD Skyahawks Lacrosse Camp: July 6-10
Ages 7 to 14
EagleVail Soccer Field
Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing and shooting in a fun, non-checking environment. Instructors help campers learn not only the sport of lacrosse, but also important life skills such as respect, teamwork and discipline. Vail Gymnastics Camps: Competitive Team Camp, July 6-10 and July 27-31  
Ages Five and Older

The Vail Gymnastics Center's July public camps are full with a wait list. The Competitive Camps will feature instruction by Georgia Gym Dogs Athletes Mary Beth Box and Beth Roberts on July 6-10 and Tani Blount, Olympic gold medalist Carly Patterson's coach, July 27-31. TetraBrazil Soccer Camp: July 13-17
Ages Seven to 18
Ford Park Playing Fields, Vail

TetraBrazil offers participants the opportunity to experience first-hand the kind of soccer training that has made Brazil the most successful soccer nation in the world. The camp will combine Brazilian techniques, footwork and moves with fun practice opportunities. Costs are $177 for half day and $237 for full day. Bob Johnson Hockey School: July 19-25
Ages Seven and Older
Dobson Ice Arena, Vail

Now in its 28th year, the Bob Johnson Hockey School focuses on the fundamentals of hockey and offers three hours of on-ice instruction with an additional hour of instruction off the ice. Coaches include Mark Johnson, head coach of the 2010 Women's Olympic Ice Hockey team silver medalist and also a player on the 1980 Olympic Team who pulled off the Miracle on Ice. Costs are $500 for Vail residents, $520 for Eagle County residents, $545 for outside guests and $225 for goalies. Must have one year of skating experience to participate. Registration underway. Mini-Hawk Sports Training Camps: July 20-24
Ages Four to Seven
Donovan Park Playing Field, Vail

This multi-sport program will give children a positive first step into athletics. The camp will include learning the essentials of baseball, basketball and soccer in a safe and fun environment. Campers also will explore balance, movement, hand-eye coordination and skill development. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon and cost $145. Registration underway. Call 970-479-2280.

Challenger British Soccer Camp: July 27-30
Ages: Three to 18

Britney Brown Volleyball Camp: July 27-30

Join 2006 Battle Mountain State Champion & Player of the Year, 2010 Division 1 Player of the Year for the Colonial Athletic Association, Professional Volleyball Player and now Laramie County Community College Assistant Volleyball Coach Britney Brown for a fun filled and energetic volleyball camp. Enjoy a week-long camp with age appropriate drills, game strategy and techniques. Britney will share her passion for the game of volleyball and provide all her insights to being a successful volleyball player. The Vail Golf Club will be offering a two-day beginner camp, three-day intermediate camp and an advanced three-day camp in July. The beginner and intermediate camps are for ages 6 to 17 and will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. The July 14-16 9 to 11 a.m. Beginner 2-Day Camp is full. The golf club has added an 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m camp with space available.
