(Vail)-The Vail Recreation District (VRD) will host a family concert featuring Eco-Troubadour Stan Slaughter from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (6-22) at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail. The Eco-Troubadour shares positive ways to live in harmony with the planet, simple changes that can be made now and creative options for a greener future - all experienced through song.
Kansas City-based artist and educator Stan Slaughter, The Eco-Troubadour, has been traveling the country singing songs and sharing stories with kids and adults since 1987. According to VRD Youth Services Director Chad Young, Slaughter combines his rock-guitar and rich baritone voice with an anthology of great songs to create a winning combination of entertainment and education. "We're excited for this week's concert and hope families will join us for an evening of entertainment and education," said Young.
Every family will purchase one ticket: $8 for a family of one, $15 for two, $20 for three, $25 for four or $30 for five. Ticket stubs will be redeemable for $5 at the concessions area. VIP tickets are available for $200 for a family of four and will include reserved parking, preferred seating, preshow appetizers, a private after-show around a campfire with dessert and a Stan Slaughter CD. Additionally, proceeds will help benefit VRD Youth Services and the Vail Nature Center.
Tickets are available at the Vail Nature Center, located adjacent to the Vail soccer fields and across the bridge from the Ford Amphitheater; Camp Eco Fun, located at the Golden Peak Children's Center; and Camp Vail, located at Red Sandstone Elementary School.
