(Vail)-The Vail Recreation District will host "Sip and Sculpt" from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday (5-3) at the VRD's Community Room. For $10, the event will allow participants to sculpt a clay tea light or a set of clay tea lights. A beer and wine bar will be available at an additional charge for those 21 years and older. Reservations are required.
The Sip and Sculpt Event will take participants through a step-by-step process to make the tea lights and allow them to utilize these skills to make other creations, such as jewelry boxes, gifts and more. Participants will paint their sculptures before they leave and the VRD will glaze and fire them to be picked up at a later time. "Anyone with or without artistic skills and experience will enjoy the Sip and Sculpt event," said VRD Community Programming Director Chad Young. "Once you get the basic techniques you can construct quite a few things with clay. It will be a great opportunity to learn new skills in a low-pressure social environment."
