Vail, Colo. -- The Vail Recreation District (VRD) will host a variety of youth sports camps this summer including volleyball, baseball, sports training, soccer, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, tennis, sand volleyball, flag football and gymnastics. The camps, which will begin in early June and last through August, offer young athletes an opportunity to learn new sports, develop new skills and refine existing skills. Details and schedules are below.
Rocky Mountain Beach Volleyball Camp: June 2-3?
Grades 6 to 8 and 9-12?Sand Courts at the Vail Athletic Field, Vail?The beach volleyball camp is ideal for players who are looking to either learn the sport of beach volleyball or improve their skills. Players will be grouped according to ability with a maximum of 10 players per coach. The camp will take place from 9 to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. for grades ninth through 12th and cost $125 per player. Volleyball Skills Camp: June 7-9
Homestake Peak School, Eagle Vail
Colorado State University Head Volleyball Coach Tom Hilbert will lead participants in individual skills training during the three-day camp. Grades second through sixth will meet from 8 to 9:15 a.m. and grades seventh through 12th will meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Costs are $160 for grades seventh through 12th and $60 for grades second through sixth. Coached by Colorado State University Pueblo Coach Stan Sanchez, the camp is great for all ability levels and will offer participants a chance to learn and improve. NEW! PGA Tour Academy Youth Junior Golf Overnight Camp: June 24-28
Vail Golf Club
This golf-intensive program is complete with seminars, guest speakers, video analysis and on-course instruction. Additional focus on the mental aspect of the game, as well as proper practice routines, tournament preparation and the opportunities for college golf will occur. Students will begin early with range instruction and warm up. After lunch, each camper will play 18 holes alongside The TOUR Academy instructors, who will provide course instruction to improve each golfer's game. Evening activities include dinner, free time and evening practice. Cost is $1,195 and includes lodging at Manor Vail Lodge. Commuter rate is $995. Registration underway, call 970-479-2260.

These week-long summer camps are for children ages five and older and will not only include gymnastics, but also outdoor adventures such as hiking, visiting local parks and excursions to Dobson Ice Arena, Vail Nature Center and more. Vail Girl's Soccer Academy: June 25-29

Experienced local coaches and athletes will lead participants in skills-based sessions including footwork, passing, receiving, touch, shooting and agility in a unique environment. Vail Skateboard Clinics: June 12 to Aug. 14
Ages Seven to 14
Vail Skatepark, LionsHead Parking Structure in Vail
Learn to skateboard at the Vail Skatepark with instructors who teach everything from basic skills and etiquette to perfecting a boardslide or kickflip. Skateboarding classes take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays beginning June 12. Costs per clinic are $20 for VRD residents and $25 for Eagle County residents. $5 discount when purchasing five or more sessions. Donovan Park Playing Field, Vail
This multi-sport program will give children ages four to seven a positive first step into athletics. The camp will include learning the essentials of baseball, basketball and soccer in a safe and fun environment. Vail Golf Club Junior Golf Program: June-August
Ages Seven to 17
Vail Golf Club, Vail
The Vail Golf Club will be offering two sessions of 2 Day PAR Camps on June 19-20 and July 9-10; three days of 3 Day PAR Camps July 17-19 and two 3 Day Birdie Camps on July 10-12 and Aug. 1-2. Costs are $59 for the 2 Day PAR Camps and $85 for the 3 Day PAR and Birdie Camps. Teen camps will take place on Fridays, beginning June 29 and cost $100 for five sessions or $25 day-of. The First Tee of Eagle County: June through August

In addition to the Vail Junior Golf Program, the Youth Foundation's First Tee of Eagle County offers a variety of summer programs, many of which take place at the Vail Golf Club. Junior Tennis Camps and Lessons: June-August

Junior Tennis Camps will take participant's tennis skills to the next level. Camps will take place from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 9-13, July 16-30, July 23-27, July 30-Aug. 3 and Aug. 6-10. Costs are $170 for Vail residents and $195 for outside guests. In addition, junior tennis lessons will take place throughout the summer beginning June 11 with a ratio of six students per coach. Lessons are from 9 to 10 a.m. for ages five to six, 10 to 11 a.m. for ages seven to nine, 11 a.m. to noon for ages 10 to 12 and noon to 1 p.m. for ages teenagers. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing and shooting in a fun, non-checking environment. Participants also will learn life skills such as respect, teamwork and discipline. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cost $155. Rental equipment is available at an additional cost. Bob Johnson Hockey School: July 15-20
Ages 8 and Older
Dobson Ice Arena
Participants will be led by U.S. women's silver medal winning Olympic team coach and 1980 Olympic gold medal winner Mark Johnson and his qualified staff for a week-long camp to improve on-ice skills and game playing techniques. Costs are $450 for Eagle County residents, $430 for Vail residents, $475 for outside guests or $175 for goalies. Children must be eight years or older with one year of skating experience.

British Soccer Camp: July 16-20
Ages Four and Older?Ford Park Athletic Fields, Vail?Challenger British Soccer brings professional coaches from England who will teach participants ball skills, passing, shooting and offensive and defensive techniques. Cost are $185 for a full day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; $140 for a half day, 9 a.m. to noon; or $103 for ages four to five for lessons from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children must be eight years or older to attend the full day session. Skyhawks Flag Football Camp: July 23-27?

Skyhawks Flag Football Camps teach the core skills of passing, catching and de-flagging or defensive positioning, while delivering fun and exciting action. Each flag football camp is organized into training environments designed to prepare kids to be champions both on and off the field. Camps conclude with the Skyhawks Bowl, an action-packed game that gives campers a chance to show-off their skills. Camps takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cost $155. Registration underway. TetraBrazil Soccer Camp: July 30-Aug. 3?
Ages Seven to 16?Ford Park Athletic Fields, Vail?The TetraBrazil Soccer Camp will bring Brazilian soccer expertise to Vail and offer an opportunity for children to learn first-hand the type of soccer training that has made Brazil one of the most successful soccer nations in the world. The camp will combine learning of Brazilian techniques, footwork and moves. Camp will emphasize shooting technique improvement to give participants an edge needed in a competitive basketball environment. Instruction will focus on individual shot mechanic analysis and a corrective action plan; form shooting instruction and training; progressive shooting practices and competitions; as well as shooting charts with effective tracking systems.
