Whitewater Kayak Demos May 28 - June 22, 2010
The Vail Whitewater Park Kayak Demos are presented by Alpine Quest Sports. Guests can view the demos from 5-7pm at International Bridge in Vail Village. Experienced kayakers will have the opportunity to demo kayaks free of charge. Spectators will be able to observe local & visiting kayakers taking advantage of the world class river features in Vail's Whitewater Park.

Teva Mountain Games June 3-6, 2010
The Teva Mountain Games are the nation’s largest celebration of mountain sport, lifestyle and music featuring top professional and amateur athletes from around the world. The environmentally-friendly adventure sporting event hosts approximately 3,000 outdoor athletes, along with an estimated 40,000 spectators. Athletes converge on Vail’s mountains and rivers to compete in eight sports and 24 disciplines for over $100,000 in prize money. Events include kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, road cycling, World Cup Bouldering, amateur climbing, fly-fishing, trail running and a half marathon. Stand Up Paddle makes its debut at the 2010 Mountain Games with two competitions on tap, as well as a freestyle demo in the heart of Vail. Additional events at the Teva Mountain Games include: a film series, Outdoor Reels; a photography competition, Mountain Click; an interactive expo area, Gear Town; DockDog canine competitions; free concerts at Mountains of Music and the Teva Mountain Ball. The Teva Mountain Games are a project of the Vail Valley Foundation.

Race for the Environment 5K & Family Fun Run June 12, 2010
Celebrate Earth Day and raise awareness for envrionmentally-friendly lifestyle choices. Donation will be made in each racer's name to the Eagle River Watershed Council's reforestation efforts in the Vail Valley. Cost for adults is $25 prior to the race, $35 day of. Cost for kids under 12 is $10.
Hot Summer Nights Free Concerts Tuesdays, June 15-August 17, 2010
Tuesday, June 15, kicks off the start of the Bud Light Hot Summer Nights Concert Series at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail. Shows are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday this summer from June 15- August 17. Admission is free making this event a favorite among the locals and summer visitors alike.

King of the Mountain Volleyball June 18-20, 2010
The 38th Vail King of the Mountain Open, the oldest beach doubles volleyball tournament in Colorado, returns to Vail June 18-20, 2010. The tournament has divisions for all abilities as well as special Father’s Day divisions for father/daughter and father/son teams.
La Sportiva Summer Solstice Twilight Trail Run June 19, 2010
Named Colorado's "Best Race Series" by Colorado Runner Magazine in 2005 and 2008, the La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Race Series has fast become an iconic event taking runners up and over trails, mountain roads, through fields and streams in and around Vail for the past 12 years. The 2010 La Sportiva Mountain Trail Running Race Series will take runners on approximately 52 miles for a total elevation gain of 16,475 feet.
Gran Fondo/Supercorsa Vail June 20, 2010
Gran Fondo is a cycling phenomenon that has taken Italy by storm. The sporting cousin of marathon, Gran Fondo are long distance, mass-participation bicycle rides that welcome cyclists of all types and riding abilities: recreational, amateur and professional. Gran Fondo Vail is a spectacular 80-mile (128km) ride that takes cyclists over scenic byways and three mountain passes of the Colorado High Country. Gran Fondo Vail takes in mountain towns Copper Mountain, Minturn and Vail, three ski areas and historic mining outposts including camp Hale, the proving ground for the famous 10th Mountain Division. Climbing almost 6,000' to a height of 11,339', Gran Fondo Vail is the cyclist's proving ground.
Fashioned after the Italian cycling classics Milano Sanremo and Giro di Lombardia, SuperCorsa™ is a long-distance, single-day bicycle race run over challenging terrain with considerable climbing, or “super courses”; SuperCorsa™ is the competitive race version of Gran Fondo. SuperCorsa™ events combine Professional through Citizen riders into a single field, enabling amateur and recreational cyclists the thrill of "being professional for a day". Operated by law enforcement officers SuperCorsa™ events are controlled by a rolling enclosure; SuperCorsa™ is limited to 250-riders. SuperCorsa™ Vail has a rich purse, awarding nearly $10,000* in cash to the top-five places. In addition to the general classification, leader jerseys are presented to the Cima Coppi, gran premio montana (GPM), last place, most combative rider, sprint points, team classification and best young rider. Vail Farmers’ Market and Art Show Sundays, June 20-Sept. 12, 2010
Beginning June 20 and continuing each Sunday through September 12, the Vail Farmers’ Market and Art Show is the largest farmers’ market in the Colorado Rockies. The Carmichael High Altitude Training Camp in Vail will allow guests to experience classic Colorado summer rides while being coached by the world-class staff of Carmichael Training Systems. Created in 2000 by Olympian and elite cyclist Chris Carmichael, Carmichael Training Systems leads the performance coaching industry with the application of the latest sports science knowledge for nutrition, fitness, and endurance training. Best known for his work as Lance Armstrong’s personal coach, Carmichael was instrumental in the cyclist’s comeback to his competitive best after his bout with testicular cancer. Carmichael has since coached a number of the world’s top athletes, as well as thousands of recreational athletes in their pursuit of personal bests. Rides will vary from breath-taking climbs, steep descents and flat valley roads. Participants will experience amenities typically reserved for professional cyclists, from post-ride massages, to individual power file analysis with the coaches. This camp is structured to accommodate riders of all levels and is relevant for both mountain bike and road cyclists.

Vail Lacrosse Shootout June 26-July 4, 2010
Lacrosse teams from all over the country return to the Vail Valley for the 38th annual invitational lacrosse tournament in Vail. Taking place over the course of the week, the tournament offers participants and spectators the chance to play and watch lacrosse in one of the most breath taking settings around.

- Fly fishing: Vail’s own Gore Creek, running through the middle of town, boasts blue medal fly fishing water. Experienced anglers will be challenged by the Gore Creek’s braided pocket water while novice and intermediates can enjoy the Eagle River’s longer runs accompanied by one of Vail’s numerous fly fishing guides.
